About this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information AdvisorWorld.com Inc. collects through earlyretirementdude.com. AdvisorWorld.com Inc. is the operator responsible for the Site’s information-handling practices.

This policy should be read with the Cookies and Browser Storage Policy and Analytics Disclosure.

Information you choose to provide

The public Site does not currently offer a public account, persistent community posting, or an active on-site contact form. If you use the linked AdvisorWorld contact channel, AdvisorWorld.com Inc. receives the information you provide there, such as your name, contact details, message, and any supporting material.

Do not provide account passwords, Social Security numbers, complete financial account numbers, or sensitive personal financial details in a general enquiry.

Information collected automatically

On the production domain, the Site uses PostHog product analytics and session replay under Early Retirement Dude project 518280. Depending on the event and service configuration, information may include page and referral URLs, timestamps, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language, approximate location or network information, page performance, clicks, scrolling, and other interaction events.

The Site also sends a small, allowlisted set of custom events about use of its tools. Those events can include non-sensitive facts such as the number of fields changed, a modeling horizon, a historical source period, or whether a target age was found. They do not include the raw dollar values entered into a calculator.

Calculator inputs and shared links

Calculator inputs and results are processed in your browser. If you choose to create or copy a share link, assumptions are placed in that link’s query string so the link can reproduce the scenario. Anyone who receives the link can read those assumptions, so you should treat it as information you chose to share.

Before analytics events are sent, the Site strips calculator assumption parameters from captured tool URLs and strips free-text search queries from captured search URLs. Calculator input and result regions are also excluded from PostHog autocapture and session replay.

How we use information

We use information to:

• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site;
• understand aggregate readership and use of articles and tools;
• diagnose performance and usability problems;
• respond to enquiries, corrections, privacy requests, and support issues;
• maintain editorial, legal, and operational records; and
• comply with law and protect legal rights.

We do not use Early Retirement Dude analytics to build interest-based advertising profiles, and we do not sell visitor information.

Analytics, replay, and browser storage

PostHog uses a random analytics identifier stored in browser session storage, not a PostHog analytics cookie. Anonymous visitors do not receive a PostHog person profile. Session replay is enabled with input masking and additional exclusions for calculators and account/community areas.

The Analytics Disclosure describes the exact production configuration, including replay, console messages, URL scrubbing, web vitals, and disabled network-timing and canvas capture.

Disclosure and service providers

We use PostHog as a service provider for analytics and session replay. Analytics is sent to PostHog’s United States cloud endpoint and may be processed or stored outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of the country in which it is processed.

We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, a court, regulator, or other authority with jurisdiction; to investigate misuse or protect rights and safety; or as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or other change of corporate control, subject to applicable law.

Retention and safeguards

We retain information for the period reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, subject to service settings, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security requirements. Browser session storage ordinarily ends with the applicable browser tab or session, but server-side analytics retention is separate.

We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission, website, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

The Site is not directed to children or individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site.

Access, correction, and complaints

You may contact the AdvisorWorld.com Inc. privacy officer to ask about personal information we hold, request access or correction where applicable, or make a complaint. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Anonymous analytics may not be reasonably linkable to your identity. Include enough information to identify the relevant communication or account, but do not send sensitive credentials.
